Year 1

Welcome to Year 1’s Class Page.

I am Miss Arnold, the class teacher, and we have Miss Concepcion as our wonderful teaching assistant supporting in our class.

In Year 1, we continue to build on the skills learnt in Foundation Stage and put them into practice, in a formal classroom setting. In English, we explore different themes and topics through a range of exciting texts and in Maths we learn different strategies to help solve a multitude of mathematical problems. We develop our reading and writing skills in phonics and have fun with our creative subjects in the afternoons. We want to develop a wide range of skills and qualities so every child can become a well-rounded individual.
